A family year in review

Well it has been a long long dry spell in blog post (I wonder why), so here is a montage of some of the most important parts of our lives this past year.

We took a picture of Ann Carver on the 22nd day of every month next to her best friend, Pooh.
It has been fun watching her grow.

Enjoy!

8 pounds 11 ounces! and growing

One of the cutest gifts I received was from the St. Mary and Martha circle of St Peter's Anglican Church in Tallahassee. The ladies got me among many other things, LOTS of diapers AND they added "special messages" for my mommy and daddy. I could not read them but I got to choose which one to put on at every change. Daddy thought all these diapers would last me through Christmas. ................ Silly Daddy.

Now a Family of three!

Well ,we have all been home now since Friday 10-26 and the parenting experience thus far can best be described as "steady as she goes". Friday night, our first night was better than what Debbie and had prepared our minds for. Ann Carver slept peacefully between feeding at 11pm, 2am, 4am, and 6:30am. Saturday and Sunday night were a different story. In seems that in the 5 minute car trip from hospital to Nashotah little Ann Carver got a touch of "jet lag". Her body clock just did not want to shut down at 3am Sunday Morning. However living on Hawaii time did not last after I sought wise counsel from some of my Seminary brothers who have recently had a family addition. We have learned the important lesson of encouraging "wake time" in the daylight hours after feedings. Ann Carver's schedule now consists of; 1) nursing, 2) burping walks, 3) play or wake time (new definition of play), 4) diaper change. Then due to complete exhaustion resulting from previous steps 5) nap for both Ann Carver and her servant team. Debbie's parents are in town to help and have proven to be a wonderful addition to the support team. We have also been overwhelmed with the love and prayer from friends here at Nashotah and elsewhere.

Ann Caver has started doing some new things and we wanted to share them with you.

New tricks noted:

*smiles (probably involuntary)
*has gained 2 ounces in 2 days!
*has found her left hand to suck on
*turns head and opens mouth, at the sound of Debbie's voice.

Stay tune for more to come.
